Vijay Mehan

Head of Civil Litigation

With over 25 years' experience in claimant personal injury and clinical negligence law, Vijay has built a distinguished career at both partner and executive level. He previously served as a Partner at Fentons Solicitors LLP prior to its acquisition by Slater & Gordon in 2013, where he continued as a Principal Lawyer. In 2016, Vijay joined Co-op Legal Services as Head of Civil Litigation, leading eight practice-area cost centres and driving measurable improvements in profitability, efficiency, and operational performance.

Vijay has also contributed to nationally significant public work, acting as Secretariat to the Independent Public Inquiry into Gulf War Syndrome in 2004, chaired by the late Rt Hon Lord Lloyd of Berwick, and to the Independent Public Inquiry into NHS Infected Blood in 2009, chaired by the late Rt Hon Lord Archer of Sandwell.

At New South Law, Vijay plays a central role in operational leadership and strategic growth. He supports the firm's management team by overseeing performance, improving systems and processes, managing risk, and helping to shape the firm's long-term commercial and cultural direction.

Away from work, Vijay can usually be found walking his dog, unwinding with yoga, or enjoying an evening at the theatre.
