Head of Inquest, Human Rights and Fatal Negligence Department
Mary is an experienced Lawyer with over 10 years’ experience in handling Inquests, Actions under the Human Rights Act (“HRA”) against healthcare providers in fatal cases and Actions in negligence and under the HRA against other State bodies – e.g. Social Care providers, the Ministry of Justice, Police etc.
Mary joined the firm Head of Inquest, Human Rights and Fatal Negligence Department and is part of the firm’s management team.
Vijay Mehan
Head of Civil Litigation
With over 20 years of experience, Vijay began his career at Fentons Solicitors LLP in 2005, rising to Partner by 2011. After its acquisition by Slater & Gordon in 2013, he continued as Partner. In 2016, Vijay joined Co-op Legal Services, leading Personal Injury and Civil Litigation, transforming losses to profits. He also served on the Infected Blood Inquiry.
Now, Vijay is Head of Civil Litigation at New South Law, contributing to the management team.
James Kingston
COLP and Head of Financial Services
With over 15 years of experience, James serves as COLP and has been a pivotal member of our management since the company’s inception in 2017. Previously, at Plexus Law and LA Law, he was an Associate Partner and led litigation, managing cases from £100 to £750,000, across various courts including the Court of Appeal.
Deborah Clark
Financial Controller, COFA, and Company Secretary
With over 30 years of experience, Deborah is a Chartered Accountant and COFA she has been with the firm since its inception in 2017 and is a critical part of the firm’s management team. She brings a wealth of knowledge working in the Public and Private sector from blue chip companies as well as SME’s.

Helen Foan is an experienced project manager with an extensive career working in Project Management, Account Management, Systems and Operational roles in a variety of sectors. Helen has been with the firm since its inception in 2017 is a critical part of the firm’s management team.
Bronwyn Faull
Accounts Assistant
Bronwyn has been with the firm since 2018 and is a critical part of the Accounts Department. Prior to joining the Accounts Department Bronwyn was a Claims Administrator at the firm.

Rebekah is an experienced Paralegal with over 8 years of experience in law firms handling a range of matters from Debt Recovery to Financial Services. Rebekah is currently part-way through her CILEX qualifications and has been with the firm since its inception in 2017.

Alastair is an experienced Paralegal. Prior to joining New South Law Alastair was a Paralegal at an FCA regulated Peer to Peer lending platform and a Trainee Solicitor at another firm of Solicitors specialising in Private Client and Conveyancing. Alastair hopes to qualify as a Solicitor in 2025.
